After the intense action of the WTCC 06 season in RACE – The Official WTCC game it is time for a brand new single seater racing experience.
Since 2005, the World Touring Car Championship is, together with the DTM, the top of the bill in car racing. Races are held at big international circuits. Championship is supported by brands as SEAT, Chevrolet, Alfa Romeo and BMW.
Playseats is connected to WTCC, via CEO Henrik Roos of SimBin, Playseats distributor in Sweden. Henrik is an enterpreneur and former race driver on an international level. Henrik has 25 years experience of cars in all forms such as sales, car customizing, tuning parts, motor sport and so forth. Since 2004, SimBin has been global scene with hundreds of awards and nominations from all over the world for the released videgames.
Another well-knonw driver, Tom Coronel of SEAT, is also familiar with Playseats. He does not only have two gaming seats, but was recently also challenged by Xbox to find differences between real life racing and Forza2 stering wheel.
For the first time ever SimBin presents Formula cars, featuring Formula 3000, Formula BMW and in addition also Radical cars with the models SR3 and SR4. But not only that, as the title RACE 07 signals, the game will ship with the full season of WTCC 2007, all the new cars and tracks are included as well as the 2006 season found in RACE.
RACE 07 comes with a bunch of new tracks and added track variations including new city tracks, alternate track layouts and reversed track option. Several new community oriented features, game modes and online functionalities will be announced later.
To support these new race classes the player will be offered the choice between one- or two-race-format. Also the highly detailed damage system from RACE is adapted to give the Formula cars the vulnerability they have in real life.
Justin Wilson, F1 and Indy Car Driver
“Accuracy is the most important thing. In the iRacing simulation, the corner spacing and radii are exactly right. Bumps, camber changes, curbing, changes in surface all have an influence on the optimal line, and iRacing has that level of detail. It’s great for learning tracks and cars, but even if you already know a track, you can refresh yourself, so you’re not spending the first session getting up to speed. You can attack straight away.”
